Hey, I'm a winner...

Medals

Because of draws (ties), we could have multiple players tied for medals at the end of the day. Medals go to the 1st player, 2nd player, and 3rd player (and ties with the 3rd player).

Please note: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd PLAYERS, not "score groups".

1) lay out the top several scorecards in order of finish

2) separate out the top three... those players get medals

3) if anyone is tied with the #3 player, they get the same medal as the #3 player

Examples

top 3 | tied with #3 | no medal | medals given

A) 8 7 6 | 6 6 | | Gold, Silver, three Bronze

B) 8 7 7 | | 6 6 6 | Gold, two Silver

C) 8 7 7 | 7 7 | 6 6 6 | Gold, four Silver

D) 7 7 6 | 6 6 6 | | two Gold, four Bronze

E) 7 7 7 | 7 | 6 6 | four Gold

Playoffs

Not everyone wants to play seriously; we have playoffs to divide the sheep from the goats. The gold and silver medal winners, and players with 6½ points or more, get an invitation to the playoffs.

Ribbons

Each player gets a Participation Ribbon, from the scorekeeper in their section.

Pennants

Each school with more than 10 players gets a participation pennant, which can be picked up by the school's representative from the stage in Hall A.

The Champion, 1st runner-up and 2nd runner-up pennants will be sent out to the respective schools after a day or two. It takes a couple of days to work out who the top schools are. No, you don't get to keep both "Champion" and "Participation" pennants.
